At Kids Plus, we recognize the importance of caring for the whole person. And we’re often a crucial first connection for patients and families with behavioral health concerns. In today’s health care environment, only 20% of children who seek treatment for a mental health disorder receive the services they need. We’re deeply committed to changing that.

So, we provide screening, assessment, and treatment for common mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. We also provide preventative services and screenings for adolescent depression and suicidality at wellness visits.

We recognize the many barriers patients and families face when trying to connect to quality behavioral health treatment, so we have a whole Behavioral Health Team dedicated to helping you get the support you need, whether that’s getting connected to appropriate resources, navigating outside services, or accessing higher levels of care.

If your family is looking for behavioral health support, the first step is to inquire with your provider or a member of the Behavioral Health Team about an Initial Assessment. The Initial Assessment is a packet sent through the Patient Portal. After the packet is completed and returned to us, one of our team members will review the information, consult with a Provider, and then reach out about next steps. For patients able to managed in a primary care setting, we can provide clinical guidance and treatment as well as co-management with outside mental health services.

Many of our Providers have experience managing standard anxiety, depression, and ADHD concerns. We also have providers with additional training in behavioral health, and we have access to consult with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh TiPS program psychiatrists for support in managing patients’ medication treatment.

Our Resource & Counseling Coordinators (RCCs) help Kids + Families navigate the behavioral health and education systems and connect to vital resources. They provide support both in-office and over the phone, as well as offering brief, in-office interventions.

Our Behavioral Health Care Coordinator manages the Initial Assessment process, answers questions about psychiatric medications, and coordinates care with outside providers.

At Kids Plus, we help you help your children get the behavioral health support and resources they need.
