Kids Plus now has online scheduling capabilities! This can be done through your Patient Portal account.

Please read below for questions and answers on how it works.

ONLINE SCHEDULING FAQ

Patients must have an active portal account to schedule an online appointment. You can access the portal through the website on your computer or mobile device or through the Healow App.

Select KIDS PLUS PEDIATRICS. You can schedule at any of our three offices where you have been seen before. You can view all of our office locations and information HERE.

  • New patients should call us, since we will need to ensure that we have your previous medical records and that we schedule a bit of extra time so that we can get to know you and your child.
  • If your child is sick, please call us and speak with our triage staff so that we can schedule an appointment that meets your child’s immediate needs.

    • Squirrel Hill: 412.521.6511
  • If you need to schedule a well visit or just get to know us, we encourage you to reach out to our Family Guide, who will fill you in on everything you need to know about Kids Plus Pediatrics, work with you on getting any previous medical records, and help to get an appointment scheduled.

You can cancel your appointment through the portal. To ensure we see your cancellation in a timely manner, we request that you cancel via the portal at least 24 hours before your appointment.

If you need to change or cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before, please call the office.

No, we do not allow saving appointment times by scheduling multiple appointments on the same day for the same child. Please be advised that if we see this, we will cancel all but the first appointment.

If you are having trouble finding a time or day that works for your schedule, please call the office and we would be happy to assist you.

VISIT TYPES FAQ

  • Always make sure that you check with insurance for when your well check is due and will be covered.
  • Many insurers have rules about timing of well visits – some require at least 365 days since your last well visit, some require a new calendar year, and others allow any time after the next birthday.
  • Some well visits must be timed carefully for vaccines.
  • The 12 month, 18 month, 4 year, 9 year, 11 year, and 16 year check-ups must be after that birthday to allow for specific vaccines.
  • Infant and toddlers who have not yet completed their primary vaccine series are encouraged to schedule the next well visit before leaving the office, since there are timing rules for different vaccines.
  • Do I need a well visit to complete a form?
  • Your child needs to be up to date on their well child visits for us to complete most forms.  If you’re unsure, please send us a portal message and we’ll let you know.
  • Sometimes well visits need additional time – we may need to contact you to reschedule your appointment to be able to address all pertinent concerns

  • On-line scheduling is a great option for short simple visits, much like our walk-in visits.  This includes things like colds, ear pain, sore throats, rashes, etc.
  • Things that are more complex often need additional time.  For chronic problems – things like headaches, abdominal pain, menstrual concerns, mental health or behavioral concerns, to name a few – please call us so that we can schedule an appropriate amount of time to meet your needs.
  • We may need to contact you to reschedule your appointment if it looks like we will need additional time.
