Kelcy Barry grew up in Osceola, a small town in Tioga County, PA, as one of seven children in a military family.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
Inspired by her family’s experience as a kinship (foster) home for two girls while she was in high school, Kelcy was drawn to the field of social work and advocating for people when they are in vulnerable situations.
Her area of interest, and now her expertise, are children and youth, which is what led her to Kids Plus Pediatrics as a Resource and Counseling Coordinator.
In her free time, she loves a good nap, or you can find her watching a favorite TV show, practicing piano, or reading a good book.
Growing up, her family vacations were spent at historical landmarks, which shaped her love of history – which is why her favorite places to “play” in Pittsburgh are museums, like the Fort Pitt Museum or Heinz History Center.
Her favorite childhood toys were her stuffed Barney and stuffed Lamb Chops.
