Telehealth

A telehealth visit is a virtual visit with a Kids Plus Pediatrics East provider. Based on certain qualifying conditions, you may be able to speak a provider online from the comfort of home or wherever you are.

We offer telehealth visits every weekday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Telehealth visits are available for sick appointments, mental health visits, re-checks, and more. Ask your Kids Plus Pediatrics East provider for more details.

Yes, our providers treat many minor illnesses, injuries, and other health concerns virtually. We start by asking specific questions and reviewing your child’s medical history, then we use the video connection as a tool to observe your child. In many cases, this is all we need to make a diagnosis and suggest a treatment plan. If necessary, we can also prescribe medication(s).

Should your child need an in-person visit for any reason, we will help you schedule one. It’s our job to make sure your child gets a complete and comprehensive evaluation.

It’s best to conduct the visit in a private, quiet, and well-lit part of your home with a stable internet connection. Turn off the TV and put pets in another room to minimize any distractions. For safety and to ensure the best quality of care, you should never conduct a telehealth visit in a moving vehicle.

You can prepare just like you would for an in-office visit by jotting down any questions or concerns ahead of time. We recommend logging on a few minutes early to sort out any technical issues. Your child (the patient) must be present for the visit. Please also have your child’s medication list and any other pertinent information nearby.

Yes, you’ll receive both a text message and an email confirming your child’s appointment details. These reminders help ensure you have everything you need beforehand, including the date, time, and instructions for joining the telehealth visit.

Existing Kids Plus Pediatrics East patients do not have to pay any fees up front. Your insurance company will be billed first, then you are responsible for any portion the insurance company does not cover. For self-pay patients, a telehealth visit costs $59.
