Little House on the Pairie and Nancy Drew- I am an avid reader and these series kept me coming back to see what’s next. In the case of Nancy Drew I loved the idea of the female characters being the smartest people in the room

My favorite childhood toy was Legos.

My first grade teacher Cynthia Lacey ( I use to say shoelace all the time). She taught me the love of learning and was the first to introduce the idea of a medical career to me.

Reading, gardening, baking, crocheting, knitting, going to beach, travel, learning something new

I just love kids. The joy and wonder when they “discover” something that you learned a long time ago always brings a smile to my face. They tell their truth without fail. When I am working with kids I know I am going to laugh at least once a day. I also feel the need to be a mediator and speak for children who are not in the position to speak for themselves- to advocate for their education and their mental health. I also get the joy of watching them grow without having to change a single diaper.

I am that smart best friend who you can call with whatever question you have and know that I won’t judge you. I like giving solutions to age old parenting problems like picking eating. I share my experiences raising my own special needs son and his extroverted brother to let you know you are not alone. I believe in educating the parent and child so that they have at least a basic understanding of their child’s physical and mental health.
I always focus on what I call the P’s of parenting: Patience, Persistence and Prayer.
