What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
The Lion King
What is your favorite children's book?
Love you Forever by Robert Munsch. I have many memories of reading this to my girls at night.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Colorforms I loved that I could use them over and over and create different things.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My parents. They have been with me through good times and bad times. They have supported me through college, medical school residency and parenting. I could not ask for better role modes.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Reading I enjoy romantic suspense and mystery
Spending time with my husband and daughters
Long walks and trips to the beach
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 9 and was introduced to medicine at that point. I realized that I wanted to work with kids and help them like the Physicians were able to help me.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I enjoy seeing all patients and building a relationship with them. I love connecting with families at each visit and learning what is happening in their lives.. Education and teaching are a huge part of Pediatrics and something I love doing every day.
At one time I considered a career in teaching and I get to do that every day in medicine.
