What is a well visit?

Regular well visits are crucial, even when your child isn't sick, allowing us to address any emerging concerns and build a complete medical history. At well visits, our providers conduct a thorough physical exam, assess developmental milestones, administer vaccines, and track your child’s growth. We also compare your child’s weight and height with other children in the same age group. 

Detecting issues as early as possible

Every child goes through stages of rapid physical development — and the sooner we can detect potential health issues, the better chance we have of treating them successfully. Well visits are a key tool used to detect and prevent chronic diseases and protect your child’s health. 

This face-to-face time with a Kids Plus provider also gives you a valuable opportunity to ask questions, discuss any concerns, and get age-appropriate advice to guide you through your child’s next set of milestones.

Your child grows quickly in their first two years of life, so you will have more well visits during this time. The first visit is usually scheduled a few days after birth and then repeats regularly, transitioning to annual visits as your child ages. You should never skip a well visit, even if your child seems healthy.
