Q&A with Dr. Georgeson
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
The Incredibles
What is your favorite children's book?
The Magic Tree House Series as it helped cultivate a sense of wonder and adventure
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My dinosaur collection
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My father, who is also a physician, because he instilled in me the values of hard work and perseverance
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Hiking, birdwatching, board games, and reading
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
My patients and their parents have been my biggest inspiration over the years. Kids are both more fun to care for and resilient. I enjoy partnering with parents who are so motivated to help their kids
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
Humility and empathy are the traits I believe are some of the most important traits to being a good primary care doctor. I try to be an expert of pediatric medicine but also realize that parents are the experts of their own kids and try to partner together with them to find what's wrong at the time
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
I have had more training in residency in children with complex medical problems (i.e. g-tubes, tracheostomy tubes) and mental health and so I feel more comfortable caring for these patients
