A head-to-toe health check for your newborn
During the newborn visit, a Kids Plus Pediatrics provider will perform a complete physical examination of your baby, check for developmental milestones, and assess their weight, feeding, sleeping, and voiding (stooling) habits. If you have questions or need advice, now is an ideal time to ask.
The provider will also check your discharge papers to make sure all necessary newborn screenings and vaccines were completed (including a hearing test, newborn screening/PKU, and hepatitis B vaccine) and discuss upcoming appointments and vaccines with you.
Precautions to protect your little one
At Kids Plus Pediatrics, newborn visits are arranged with your baby’s safety and comfort in mind. Whenever possible, we’ll bring your newborn to an exam room as soon as one is available, helping limit exposure to other children. Please remember to bring your discharge papers, driver’s license, and insurance card with you.
After the visit, our staff will schedule your baby’s next set of appointments to ensure their milestones are met and vaccines are on track. See you soon!
